MOCK CRASH SCHEDULED MOCK CRASH SCHEDULED: DeRuyter Central School has scheduled a "Mock Crash" for Thursday, May 23,2019 between 9:00 am and 11:00 am for students in Grades 10-12 only. The "Mock Crash" will be held in the parking lot in front of the Bus Garage.  There will be actual "crashed" cars with "victims" (portrayed by students) as a result of the "crash".  There will be Fire/Rescue Squads present (with sirens), as well as police, sheriffs, and possibly a hearse.  There will be a "debriefing" for students after the event. The purpose of this "Mock Crash" is to heighten awareness of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs during prom season.
PK-5 DISMISSAL CHANGES BEGIN APRIL 22, 2019 PK-5 DISMISSAL CHANGES BEGIN APRIL 22, 2019: IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING PK-5 END OF DAY DISMISSAL      The safety of our students is a top priority.  The addition of Officer Karl vonKnoblauch to our school community is an important step in the right direction of ensuring our students are safe while in our care.  He is serving as a resource and making recommendations on how we can update and improve our existing safety protocols and procedures.  One procedure our staff and administrative team have discussed this year is the dismissal of our elementary students.  As a result of these discussions, we will be making changes to our procedures for picking up elementary students at the end of the day. 2019-2020 PRE-K and KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION 2019-2020 PRE-K and KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION: All children turning four on or before December 1, 2019 who live in DeRuyter Central School District are eligible to enroll in Pre-Kindergarten and all children turning five on or before December 1, 2019 are eligible to enroll in Kindergarten.  Students four and older are eligible to receive bus transportation.  Parents/guardians are invited to call (315) 852- 3400 x 7122 with questions and to be added to our mailing list.  There will be Parent Information Night on Wednesday, May 8 th from 6-7pm.
