PK-5 DISMISSAL CHANGES BEGIN APRIL 22, 2019 PK-5 DISMISSAL CHANGES BEGIN APRIL 22, 2019: IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING PK-5 END OF DAY DISMISSAL      The safety of our students is a top priority.  The addition of Officer Karl vonKnoblauch to our school community is an important step in the right direction of ensuring our students are safe while in our care.  He is serving as a resource and making recommendations on how we can update and improve our existing safety protocols and procedures.  One procedure our staff and administrative team have discussed this year is the dismissal of our elementary students.  As a result of these discussions, we will be making changes to our procedures for picking up elementary students at the end of the day. These changes are designed to make dismissal safer and more effectively supervised.   ...
Board Member Petitions Available Board Member Petitions Available: Interested in running for the DeRuyter Central School Board of Education?  Two 3-year seats are available for the 2019-2020 school year due to the expiring terms of Dean Hathaway and Bradley Mierke.  Petitions with at least 25 qualified voters are required and may be picked at the office of the District Clerk (Sandy Welsh) between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:00 pm (except weekends and holidays).  Completed petitions are due with the District Clerk no later than 4:00 pm on April 22, 2019.  If you have questions, please contact District Clerk, Sandy Welsh at 315-852-3400 x 7403 or  
2019-2020 PRE-K and KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION 2019-2020 PRE-K and KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION: All children turning four on or before December 1, 2019 who live in DeRuyter Central School District are eligible to enroll in Pre-Kindergarten and all children turning five on or before December 1, 2019 are eligible to enroll in Kindergarten.  Students four and older are eligible to receive bus transportation.  Parents/guardians are invited to call (315) 852- 3400 x 7122 with questions and to be added to our mailing list.  There will be Parent Information Night on Wednesday, May 8 th from 6-7pm.  
DCS 2018-2019 CALENDAR CORRECTIONS DCS 2018-2019 CALENDAR CORRECTIONS: Please note the following corrections to the DCS District Calendar for the month of May 2019: 2019-20 Budget Public Hearing/BOE Meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at 6:00 pm The Senior Citizen Luncheon/2nd Grade Play will be held on Monday,  May 20, 2019 at Noon The DCS 2019-20 Budget Vote/Board of Education Election will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 from Noon-9:00 in the DCS Large Gym Foyer The 3-5 Vocal/Band Concert; 3-12 Art Show; 2nd Grade Play for Parents; FFA Plant Sale will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 .

The DeRuyter Central School District is committed to high levels of learning for all students. We strive to provide engaging and equitable learning environments for everyone. In an effort to ensure that all students are afforded an optimal learning environment, the district will provide breakfast and lunch at no cost to all students in grades K -12 th .   Beginning this September, the District will be participating in the Community Eligibility Provision part of the The Healthy and Hungry Free Kids Act which is a federally-funded program. WELCOME WALKERS!!!: Now that the weather is turning cooler, we invite you to come to the school and walk the halls!  Beginning on NOVEMBER 27, 2018  through April 11, 2019  two days have been designated - Tuesday and Thursday each week.  Hours are 4 pm to 7 pm.       Please enter through the Cafeteria Door and sign in.  When finished and are leaving, please make sure to sign out.
