Superintendent Search Update Superintendent Search Update:      For the past several months your Board of Education has been working with Dr. Jody Manning, District Superintendent of OCM BOCES on the superintendent search for DeRuyter Central School.  Twelve candidates applied for the position.  After thorough analysis and evaluation of all applicants, six applicants were interviewed.  The interview process included three levels of interviews that concluded with sessions by stakeholder groups.  The final three candidates met with the Board following the stakeholder interviews.  The final selection was very difficult as each of the finalists possess strengths that would help DeRuyter Central satisfy strategic goals.      The Board would like to thank Dr. Manning, for his direction, leadership ...

2017-2018 CALENDAR CHANGE 2017-2018 CALENDAR CHANGE: IMPORTANT NOTICE: Although the winter seemed so long, DCS still has unused snow days. Therefore, IF we do not have to use another emergency day before Friday, May 25, 2018, there will be no school for students ("snow day") on Friday, May 25, 2018. Classes will resume on Tuesday, May 29, 2018.  This is subject to change. Please plan accordingly. Thank you.

Finalists Are Named In DCS Superintendent Search Finalists Are Named In DCS Superintendent Search: Finalists Announced for DeRuyter Superintendent of Schools   The DeRuyter Central School District Board of Education is pleased to announce that three finalists have been selected to move forward in the search for a new superintendent and will interview on May 16, 2018 with district stakeholder groups consisting of teachers, students, administrators, community members/parents, support staff and district office staff. Safety Reminder Safety Reminder: Attention Parents/Guardians: This is a friendly reminder that students should not be dropped off at school prior to 7:30 am.   There is no supervision available  until  7:30 am, therefore for the safety of your children, we are requesting that children do not  arrive at school prior to 7:30 am.  Beginning April 30, 2018, none of the doors on campus will be unlocked until 7:30 am when there is supervision available.

PRE-KINDERGARTEN AND KINDERGARTEN INFORMATION PRE-KINDERGARTEN AND KINDERGARTEN INFORMATION: DCS Pre-Kindergarten Program Update      Last year when we had to cut our Pre-Kindergarten program due to budgetary constraints, we also made it clear that we are committed to seeking funding through NYS in order to reinstate the program as soon as we are eligible to do so (which we believe will be for the 2018-2019 school year).  However, we have to wait to see if NYS includes funding for the Universal Prekindergarten grant program in their budget, and wait for the applications to come out in order to apply.  Over the past few years, this grant was not released until late June or later.  As a result we will not know with certainty if we will be able to offer a program until sometime this summer at the earliest.        In ...
